Bucephalandra sp. 'Needle Leaf'

C$20.95Price

Although Bucephalandra species originate from Asia and Anubias from Africa, they share many similarities in appearance and care requirements. Bucephalandra sp. ‘Needle Leaf’ follows this pattern and is known for being easy to grow, with slightly higher demands than varieties such as ‘Diabolica’ and pygmaeae.

This variety benefits from moderate lighting and supplemental CO₂, which help promote healthy growth and coloration. Growth is slow, making it ideal for detailed and long-lasting aquascapes.

When submerged, the plant produces slender, elongated leaves that are gently wavy and deep green in color, decorated with numerous fine white speckles. Individual leaves are narrow, measuring less than 0.5 cm in width and 1–2 cm in length. The youngest sections of the creeping rhizome often display an attractive reddish coloration.

Bucephalandra sp. ‘Needle Leaf’ should be attached to rocks or driftwood, or placed on the substrate with care. The rhizome must remain uncovered, as burying it can cause rot and lead to plant failure.
