Limnophila sessiliflora, formerly known as Ambulia, is an attractive and easy-care stem plant native to South-East Asia. It is a popular alternative to Cabomba, offering a similar fine-leaved appearance while requiring significantly less light.

This fast-growing plant can reach heights of up to 40 cm, with stems spreading 3–4 cm wide. In low-light conditions, growth may become leggy; however, this can be partially improved by encouraging healthier development through CO₂ supplementation.

Limnophila sessiliflora looks most impressive when planted in groups, creating a lush and natural backdrop. Under favorable conditions, it produces runners and spreads along the aquarium floor, helping to fill out planted areas quickly.

Hardy, adaptable, and visually appealing, Limnophila sessiliflora is an excellent choice for aquarists seeking a fast-growing, low-demand background plant.
