At Scales & Tails Pet Supplies, the health and well-being of our animals always come first. To ensure every animal goes to a safe, prepared home, please review the following policy before purchasing a live animal.

All live animal sales are final. Live animals are non-returnable and non-refundable unless otherwise agreed to in writing prior to purchase. By completing a purchase, you confirm that you have researched and understand the specific care requirements for the species,  including proper housing, diet, temperature, humidity, and long-term care. Our team is always happy to answer questions and provide guidance before you take an animal home.

 

Appropriate, species-specific housing must be set up before bringing an animal home. To protect the well-being of our animals, we may request proof of a suitable enclosure or setup prior to completing a sale. We reserve the right to refuse or decline the sale of any live animal if we believe the animal is not a good fit, proper housing has not been confirmed, or the buyer may not be fully prepared to meet the animal’s care needs. These decisions are made solely with the animal’s best interest in mind.

 

Buyers must be 18 years of age or older to purchase a live animal, and valid photo identification may be required. Once an animal leaves our care, Scales & Tails Pet Supplies is not responsible for health issues resulting from improper transportation, environmental exposure, or challenges during acclimation to a new home. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that owning the animal is legal in their area and complies with all local regulations.

 

While we take great care to maintain healthy animals, we cannot guarantee long-term health, behavior, temperament, or lifespan. By purchasing a live animal, the buyer agrees to release and hold harmless Scales & Tails Pet Supplies from liability related to injuries, illnesses, losses, or damages that may occur after purchase.
